This paper considers how land speculation impacts women smallholder farmers in Ibadan, Nigeria. It focuses on how land use policies and economic trends make it hard for women to access farming resources and have a say in decisions. The essay also explores how land speculation affects these farmers’ lives, especially regarding displacement and how resources are distributed. Furthermore, it examines the cultural issues that sustain gender inequalities in land ownership and farming. By tackling these issues together, this research aims to highlight the experiences of women farmers in Ibadan and add to wider conversations about gender fairness and sustainable farming in cities.
