A Critical Study on the Mentorship and Sustainability of Christian Mission: A Case Study of Josiah Akindayomi and Enoch Adeboye

This in-depth exploration sheds light on the transformative power of mentorship in sustaining Christian missions, with a spotlight on the remarkable bond between Josiah Akindayomi and Enoch Adeboye within the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). Through a  qualitative analysis of documents and themes, this study uncovers the mentorship strategies and leadership transition model that have enabled RCCG to thrive. The findings reveal that Akindayomi’s mentorship of Adeboye was a pivotal factor in the church’s enduring legacy, nurturing a culture of spiritual growth, leadership development, and ministry expansion. This research underscores the vital importance of intentional mentorship in cultivating the next generation of Christian leaders, highlighting the need for purposeful investment in their growth and development. By sharing these insights, the paper aim to empower Christian leaders, organizations, and scholars to develop effective mentorship programs, plan for seamless leadership transitions, and ensure the long-term sustainability of Christian missions.
