Domestic
waste management is a growing global challenge due to rapid urbanization,
population growth, and increasing waste generation. Conventional waste
treatment methods, including landfilling and incineration, are often
insufficient, posing environmental and health hazards. Nanotechnology offers
innovative solutions for the effective treatment, recycling, and disposal of
domestic waste, including organic, plastic, and wastewater streams. This review
paper discusses the various applications of nanotechnology in domestic waste
management, focusing on its role in wastewater treatment, biowaste recycling,
and plastic degradation. The paper also examines challenges, environmental
risks, and future prospects.
