The rapid development of artificial
intelligence (AI) is reshaping the ways in which higher education institutions
organize, operate, and deliver academic services. In academic management, AI
not only supports the automation of academic administration processes, academic
advising, early-warning systems, learner data analytics, and decision support,
but also raises new issues related to data, trust, transparency,
accountability, and learners’ rights. Drawing on data-driven university
governance, learner-centered approaches, and the principles of responsible AI,
this article clarifies the content of responsible AI governance in higher
education academic management; identifies the governance risks that arise when
AI is applied to academic management processes; and, on that basis, proposes
principles and a responsible AI governance model appropriate to the current
context of Vietnamese higher education.
Keywords: artificial intelligence; responsible AI; academic management;
