Strategies for Poverty Eradication in Islam as a Means of Fighting Corruption in Nigeria

Islam as a way of life has made provision for economic system of its adherents. Poverty is one of the economic menaces which human race is trying to get rid of. One of the menaces of poverty is that it escalates crimes in the society including corruption. The consequence of corruption on the society both socially, economical and religiously need not to be over emphasized in view of this, Islam devised some means of eradicating poverty as a measure to curve out corruption from the society. The paper is intended to make a survey of these issues with relevant references from the Qur’an and Sunnah.
