Formation of Electrically Conducting Wool by Electrochemical Method

The electrochemical method was used to prepare electrically conducting wool fibre by using Pt electrodes in the solution of furan in nitrobenzene. The supporting electrolyte used for this purpose was HClO4. Polyfuran was coated on the wool fibres wounded around the cathode. The conductivity was investigated at different experimental conditions by changing the impressed current, concentration of supporting electrolyte and monomer concentration. The conductivity was measured by two probe method and maximum conductivity was found to be 30.2 S cm-1.
